Darjeeling is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal, located in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is situated at an elevation of about 2,050 meters (6,710 feet) above sea level and is located approximately 600 km (370 miles) northeast of Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta).
The town is surrounded by beautiful green tea plantations and offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range, including the famous Mount Kanchenjunga.
